Driver less cars are soon going to be launched in UK. For now, green light has been given for the testing of driverless cars on public roads of UK.

UK has shown a lot of interest in the development of driverless cars on its roads. The business secretary, Vince Cable, stated that £10m fund will be allocated for the researchers involved in the exploration engineering driverless cars. “The excellence of our scientists and engineers has established the UK as pioneers in the development of driverless vehicles through pilot projects,” said Cable. “Today’s announcement will see driverless cars take to our streets in less than six months, putting us at the forefront of this transformational technology and opening up new opportunities for our economy and society.”

Testing of Fully Autonomous and Driver-Equipped

The testing of cars on public roads will be done according to laws similar to that of US where driverless cars have been tested on public roads since 2011 in some states. There will be two particular kinds of tests reviewed on public roads: fully autonomous cars without a driver, and those with a qualified driver who could take control at any time

Government Money to Aid The Research Groups

UK is to aid the research groups with great investments to make the driverless cars work.

UK’s innovation agency the Technology strategy Board is to govern the fund of total £10m. The local institutes are given an opportunity to apply for funding by submitting a business case along with the authority as to why the self-driving cars are convenient for transport solution that particular area. It was pre decided that 3 cities of UK will be selected to the driverless car trials in 2015. Deadline for the car research applications is soon going to end in October 2015.

How Does The Car Work?

The car will be detecting traffic and other objects by special camera and sensitive sensors, the problem which is being face right now in the current prototypes are regarding different factors. The driverless car is unable to detect bad weather, potholes, and temporary traffic lights. Also, it has a difficulty of recognizing police officers & human signals.

Benefits Brought by Driverless Cars

“Driverless cars have huge potential to transform the UK’s transport network – they could improve safety, reduce congestion and lower emissions, particularly CO2,” said the transport minister, Claire Perry.

Well, the UK government is pushing its engineers to excel in the driverless car technology with full support. By observing the UK’s enthusiasm and devotion towards this technology, we can predict rapid positive outcomes. Google has also been in this race for years and has been testing the autonomous cars in California. It has been predicted that this technology may be seen on the roads by 2020.

hp-250-g1-2Before getting connected to HP we need to review its pros and cons. From display to the internal functioning everything appeals to the buyers. Where its robust structure matters, its looks are also considered that must go with your personality. HP 250 G3   offers you certain features that will even make you drool over it or you might just go for some other product.

Reasons to Support

Starting from its construction; it is entirely made up of matte plastic. Matte plastic benefits you with a scratch resistant surface along with no fingerprints and easy in gripping. It is 2.8 cm (~1.1 inches) and weighs only 2.14kg with 15.7-inch display making it quite portable and easy for you to carry anywhere.

Input Devices

It is provided with a chiclet keyboard that is famous these days in netbooks and notebooks. Because of the design of the keys and the way this keyboard is designed, these flat keys will feel softer while typing especially for rigorous typing your fingers will not get tired. A smooth touch-pad measuring 11.1 cm x 5.4 cm (~4.4 x 2.1 inches) with click keys will surely spare you from the pain of keeping a spare mouse. For website surfers, this touchpad is perfect as it executes multi-touch commands and moves very fluidly. All in all this handsome notebook will not disappoint you when it comes to its input devices.

LG have contributed in providing it with 15.6-inch TN display that have a resolution of up to 1366×768 pixels. In both AC power mode and battery mode the panels runs at an average brightness of 206 cd/m². With a contrast of 841:1 and black value of 0.24, it does considerably better here.

Processor and Graphics

To make their product affordable HP have installed an Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core processor. Such type of processors are usually found in smaller notebooks or netbooks and provide you with a base clock of frequency of 2160MHz. Comparing out product with other products: Intel Celeron 2955U in Acer Aspire E1-532 is based on Haswell architecture rather than the HP device’s Bay Trail Architecture and have proven to provide better results. Our notebook houses a Bay trail version of Intel HD Graphics, directly integrated into the CPU whereas the other competitors that include Acer Aspire E1-532 boasts a Haswell version of the Intel HD Graphics and the HP Compaq 15 has an AMD Radeon HD 8210. Both of these competitors are providing better service compared to our notebook in this area.

Storage Devices

5400 rpm magnetic hard drive installed in this HP notebook provides you with ample space of 500GB.

Power Consumption Rate

The power consumption rate of our product have surely kicked its competitors aside. Where our device require a low 15.4Watts; the Acer Aspire E1-532 needs a much higher 26.5 W.

Reasons to Oppose

Battery Life

HP 250 G3 offers less battery life. The 28.8 Wh should be capable enough to make the machine work for up to six hours but taking our hopes up, our HP computer cuts out after just 3h and 29 min whereas its competitors are promising a longer battery life.

Case and Connectivity

Though out device is lighter in weight but have a thicker structure with 1-3 mm (~0.03-0.11 inches). Assembled cleanly but the frame around the Ether port is rather sharp-edged and a little pressure can be harmful for the display lid. You will be provided with three USB port but only one of the port supports USB 3.0. that is not highlighted with blue unlike other notebooks. For easy accessibility to the power input and the Kensington lock, all of these computer’s connections are located towards the front but it comes with the disadvantage of getting all devices and cables near the front of the notebook get tangled, might become a headache when it comes to USB-based mouse.

No maintenance hatch is made rather sealed construction is done and battery can be removed without any tools which Acer Aspire E1-532 unapprove of for inexpensive notebooks.

Outdoor Performance

For outdoor use, the TN panel’s is pitiful as it provides less brightness and display will not be visible in sunny days.

Low Graphics

A bad news for the fans of computer games, because of its weak hardware performance we will suggest you not to play new games on this system. Some older games can be played with low graphics settings.

System Noise

Though it have a fanless construction that might make it quieter but the sharp clicking sounds from its hard drive have been complained by many users that is found quite disturbing.

Audio Quality

It will not provide you with great audio quality so it will be hated by music lovers but for occasional films or YouTube clips it will be sufficient enough.

Might not be good enough for gamers or music lovers but it is a convenient device for basic use that include office work or internet surfing, also perfect for students who are looking for an inexpensive assistant for their studies. Because of its light weight and compact display they can carry it quite easily without getting bothered by its weight and fear of getting its matte display ruined by scratches.

F1Technology Soon to Be Used in Operating Rooms

Who doesn’t know Mclaren? One of the biggest names in F1. Excelling in automotive industry, it kept on surprising the world with a chain of new products belonging to different industries such as electronic, food industry, TV animation, health care, sports equipment, clothing & accessories & the list goes on. Being the best on providing F1 technology, Mclaren has kept on entertaining the people in car racing championships putting a lot of interesting drama on the race tracks.

After all these wonderful creations, Mclaren is all set to take its F1 technology in the operating rooms. Yes, you heard it right F1 in the operating rooms.

F1 technology is no longer limited on roads, it is now determined to make surgeons more skilful on their job.  McLaren Applied Technologies, a subsidiary of the McLaren Technology Group ensured that it will soon be applying their expertise on surgeries, which is also a game of seconds. MAT has made an agreement with Oxford University to enhance key medical skills especially using the F1 technology.

This news is definitely going to leave you inquisitive that how this technology works in surgeries. Here is the information to keep you calm. Hargrove, Technical Director of MAT explains the procedure. A sensor is placed on the elbow of the surgeon while the operation is being carried out. The data is sent via Bluetooth technology to the computers. The sensor produces a stream of data that provides immediate feedback to the surgeons in real time. She says, “We know there are certain traits that distinguish a great surgeon, such as speed and dexterity – how jerky or smooth is their movement when they cut. There’s always a subjective element in teaching any surgeon. This adds objectivity to it …in addition to another surgeon’s feedback.” By comparing the results with previous surgeries carried out, this would actually be helpful in spotting whether the surgeon has improved as compared to the last time or not.

Expert surgeons are also appreciating the advancement brought in by Mclaren. Now, let’s discuss if this technology is helping the patients or not. Sensors are placed on the patients’ body parts in pre-op & post op which helps in identifying patient’s conditions even from home. As a result, doctors can easily observe if the patient’s health is good enough to undergo a surgery. It has been realized that most of the patients don’t like the idea of any device being inserted in their body for any checkup or operational purposes.  Hargrove points out that no sensor goes on the patient during surgery “As that aspect is already superbly done”.

The F1 technology is also facilitating in keeping weight check as well. Geoff McGrath says, ‘With data, we can spot a trend – why has this person’s weight gone up when their diet hasn’t changed. Or, we can monitor a person’s gait (how they walk). When a person’s gait changes, it’s usually due to a medical condition. But you don’t notice this visually’

Well, after learning all of this fantastic information, technology is making us proud and so is Mclaren.
